[About]

We show where AI answers come from.

When a buyer asks AI what to use, the answer is built from review sites, roundups and forums. Spotlit shows you which pages, so you know where to be listed.

[Note] From the founder

Ask AI which tool to buy and you get a confident short list. It looks like a verdict. It isn't.

It's a summary of the few pages the AI read a moment earlier: a review site, a roundup, a forum thread. If those pages skip your brand, the answer usually does too, and more posts on your own site won't change that.

So I built Spotlit to show you those pages. It asks the questions your buyers ask, links every page each answer was built from, and ranks where to get listed first. You can open and check every finding yourself.

It's early, it's free while we build, and I read every email.

[01]Why we exist/ how an answer is made

AI names the brands its sources name.

An AI answer isn't a verdict on your product. It's a summary of the few pages the AI read. If those pages skip you, the answer usually does too.

1A buyer asks AI

“Best email marketing tools 2026”

2It reads a few pages

  • 1g2.comBest Email Marketing Software in 2026
  • 2pcmag.comThe Best Email Marketing Services
  • 3zapier.comThe 8 Best Email Marketing Apps
  • acmeemail.comNot read

3It answers from them

The best email marketing tools in 2026 include Mailchimp (best overall), Klaviyo (best for e-commerce), ConvertKit (best for creators), ActiveCampaign (best automation), and Brevo (best value).1 2 3

Acme Email is not named

Sample answer for Acme Email, a fictional brand. The pages named its competitors, so the answer did too.

[02]What it does/ today, free

One domain in. The pages behind the answer out.

Free account, no card. Paste a domain, and about 2 minutes later you have a report.

  1. 1

    We work out your market

From your domain alone, we find your brand, your category and the competitors buyers compare you with.

  2. 2

    We ask what buyers ask

An AI model answers your category's buying questions from a live web search. We save every page it cites.

  3. 3

We rank where to get listed

Pages AI cites that don't mention you, ranked by how often they're used. That's your worklist.

[03]How we work/ evidence first

Evidence first. Limits stated.

This category is full of big claims. Here are ours, and each one can be checked against a report in about 2 minutes.
  • Every finding links to a page

Each source in a report is saved with its URL. Open it and check it yourself.

  • Live, not remembered

Answers come from a web search run at scan time, not from what a model memorised in training.

  • Clear about what we measure

We run our own AI model with live web search. We don't read ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or any other app.

  • Snapshots, labelled as snapshots

Every report records its questions and date. We don't draw trend lines we don't have.

  • A mention is not a customer

Mentions, citations, visits, leads and customers are different things. We say which one we saw.

  • No borrowed proof

No invented logos, testimonials or numbers. Any count on this site comes from real scans.

[04]Who it's for/ agencies first

Built for the people clients ask.

Agencies first, because their clients are already asking about AI. Useful to anyone who needs to know why a competitor keeps getting recommended.

SEO and content agencies

Clients are asking why AI recommends a competitor. Show them the pages behind the answer and a ranked list of where to get listed, in one report you can share.

Marketing teams

Find the review sites, roundups and forums that shape your category's AI answers, and decide where to earn a place first.
